Pretty good. Perhaps dropped a couple of grades because of the harsher marking this year, but still good enough to get him into his A-level college.
But he didn't get a barrage of 9s so he's disappointed.

Just the regular reminder that despite the political spin around 'standard pass' at grade 4, GCSE grades 1 to 3 are not fail grades. A grade 1 is a GCSE pass, and is granted a level 1 qualification certificate. Grades 4+ get you a level 2 qualification.
This week Nick Gibb, the School Minister, broke cover and said as much - grades 1 to 3 are GCSE pass grades.
Don't tell children they have failed their GCSEs.

This is the fourth time we've been through this and those sodding blocks are always a pain. It's fascinating (to me) to see the differences and similarities in what each of the kids chose, going back over 15 years.
Now to count the days until there's no more Art or French!
