#SessionReport for session 2 of the #G3 part of my #GDQx campaign: party tried to pursue King Snurre though his secret path, but were turned back by a dracohydra; going the other way they encountered Queen Fruppy upreved to a Fire Giant War Mage and with minions and 3 giant dire weasels (who are viciously effective given cover and a smallish room). The Queen almost dropped my the #MinMaxed warrior whos popped so many of my monsters- the #ExpandedMonstermanual & #A5e books were gold to use

#Levelup5e suggests boosting fire giants with knock prone attacks, sweeping assaults when bloodied, and reaction kicks - good fun all. For chapter 3, Session 1 of #GDQx, they finessed the bespelled front door with a skill challenge (avoiding a nasty curse) and clawed their way through the front hall through two rough fights and an extravagant fire trap. Snurre escaped for now, but there’s more to come. #SessionReport

And now, the Fire Giant portion of our #GDQx campaign; a little #LevelUp5e boost their stat blocks probably wont hurt. at least int won’t hurt me… #MooHooHaHaw
Truthfully, I am shamed to think that while bandying about the ‘D’ of my upcoming #GDQx game that I failed to mention Jason Sholtis and his utterly beautiful Operation Unfathomable, which is about as good of a gonzo underworld adventure as you could ask for:

The Dungeon Dozen supplement is pretty rad too:

Meantime, next up is my #GDQx mashup; #5e rules, the wonderful #4e maps of Mike Schley (it’s a#VTT table via #Roll20), and content pulled from Veins of the Earth, Dungeon Magazine, Tales of the Yawning Portal, and the initial TSR modules. WE start G3 Hall of the Fire Giant King this Wednesday.
