🧵 2/3. I'm not gloating, I believe in #EqualityforAll & this is sickening but I consolidated my various pension funds into a SIPP before #GE2017 & they have been managed by an American funds manager since spring 2017. This was in anticipation of the downside to #Brexit if it went ahead. This was my 2017 general election 'subvertisement'. Allport's book is as relevant now as 70 years ago.

Five years ago today, I was working in Labour HQ on the #GE2017 campaign
In two days’ time the manifesto was going before the Clause V meeting of 80 delegates for sign-off, before its launch the following week
Just after 9pm, an ashen-looking @schneiderhome@twitter.com approached me… 🧵

Seeing rumours/speculation online that Jo Swinson might resign before the General Election, as the national polling results for the LibDems is so bad. I can't see that happening at this late stage. However, after December 12th might be a different matter.
I'm also hearing that the SNP campaign in East Dunbartonshire is going quite well. So, even if JS survives as leader, she may no longer be an MP.

Watching how the real votes are coming in.
Currently 53.13% for Labour.
Good night everyone, I'm hoping for a Labour led coalition, but will settle for a hung parliament tomorrow #GE2017
Also fuck gerrymandering...
Also can we please rescind article 50!? Can't see Corbyn doing that though.
Happy to learn that freaking people out on security and threatening human rights make politicians loose in UK Congrats ! #GE2017
This is interesting. #GE2017. Tories on top,. but still down compared to 2015. Weak mandate for May.
Conservatives: 314
Labour: 266
SNP: 34
Lib Dems: 14
Plaid Cymru: 3
Greens: 1
Ukip: 0
Others: 138
And this is how these results would compare with 2015.
Conservatives: Down 16 on the 2015 seat result
Labour: Up 34
SNP: Down 22
Lib Dems: Up 6
Plaid Cymru: No change
Greens: No change
