Wuhu geschafft 🥳
Das kleine Baby welches sich zu Tony dem Taggecko verirrt hatte konnte ich heute nun endlich einfagen nachdem ich es die letzten Abende immer mal wieder vergebens versucht hatte.
Nun darf sie sicher vor Fressfeinden zusammen mit ihren zwei Schwestern (oder Cousinen, weiss es leider nicht genau) in der Kinderstube aufwachsen.
Und sich erstmals richtig vollfressen, den Füttern war vorher auch fast nicht möglich.

Hier ist übrigens in der Zwischenzeit Babygecko nr. 3 aufgetaucht. Auch der hat sich einen Weg aus dem Elternterrarium gesucht und sich auf die Suche nach einem neuen Zuhause gemacht. Das hat sie auch gefunden, nur leider am so ziemlich ungünstigsten und für sie gefährlichsten Ort im ganzen Haus. Sie ist nämlich bei Taggecko Tony eingezogen.
Sie mag es wohl extrem.

The fundamental problem with any #Gecko based browser that's not #Firefox or any #Chromium based browser that's not #Chrome (or Chromium itself) is that they're always chasing a moving target. Neither has a stable API, because neither has embedding as a primary use case; their respective browsers are their primary use case. For a security update to reach a fork, it first has to hit the open source repo, then it has to get merged into the fork, and then the fork has to be released. This means there will always be some additional delay.

This might be fine if you have other concerns besides timeliness of fixes that the fork address. But unlike many on here I don't have privacy concerns about Mozilla. By far my biggest concern about them is their dependence on funding from Google. My second biggest concern is that their attempts to gain independence from that funding lead to things like Pocket and ads in the browser. Which is why I say "die" rather than "gain independence from Google". I don't like what their vision of independence looks like. It's like they learned nothing from Netscape.

Sorry guys... this is not what the OPEN web is about... it is not about a single vendor lock "just" for some nicer dev experience.

In the end we have now #blink as the defacto monopolistic giant in the rendering game. Then there is #webkit mainly used by #safari browser. And faaar away there is #firefox powered by the #gecko rendering engine.

Let us foster #diversity on the #web before it is... too late!

Heute habe ich mal versucht einen meiner Babygeckos zu fotografieren.
Gar nicht so einfach, besonders weil ich gleichzeitig die Falltür vom Terrarium aufhalten, mit der Stirnlampe ziehlen und Fotografieren muss.
Und dazu sollte der Gecko dann auch noch still halten.
