I bought a #scintillation detector from https://radiacode.com. A great super modern radiation detector… it’s like a #geigercounter but with energy spectrum (you can detect the radioactive isotope). For testing I bought a 5x5x2cm #uranglas… now I am testing comparing all my geigercounters from the good radix to the cheap Chinese :-))

Archive picture. Someone bought a #geigercounter from me and brought this chunk of (meta) #torbernite as a test source.
It was one of the most naturally #radioactive items I have ever encountered. It pegged the needle of the Mini-Instruments 900 I was selling. Told them this item was better kept in a sealed box or in well ventilated area 🤪

Three mini monitors I saved from the junk heap at the university years ago. I upgraded them with #bnc connectors and found them new homes 🙂 #geigercounter #radioactivity
