Excerpt of a 12x12" gelprint from last night. Somehow the clean-up prints always turn out to be the most interesting. š Worked with just 3 colours: Burnt Sienna, Phtalo Blue GS, Titan Buff Deep, plus white.

I have been making some art, like this monoprint, about some of the many folk traditions around May Day. May Eve is celebrated with bonfires for Walpurgisnacht and Hexennacht (Walpurgis night and Witches' Night as celebrated in Germany). May Eve is the feast day of Saint Walpurga in celebration of her canonization May 1, 870. But folklorists tie it to a more ancient ā¦

I've recently been playing around with mixed media - gel printing onto fabric, then adding stitched embellishments. I had two of these new works in the Green Man Gallery's recent open exhibition in Buxton and I've just got them back. Umbellifer#1 & Umbellifer#2 both now listed on my website.
