My gender is like throwing things onto a wall and seeing what sticks. Same with my name.

It took time and tremendous work to realize that you are nonbinary.
You know better than anyone the path that lead you here, and your reasons for traversing it.
So, don't let others analyze your gender for you. Don't let others "explain" your motivations and process of self discovery.
You will always know yourself best in this. You are the one living your life, after all.

Not sure if I'm genderfluid and experience masculinity, androgyny, and agenderness within that, or if I'm agender and I experience masculinity and androgyny as gender expression.... either way I've got some gender questioning to do.... lately he/him dude, guy, man feel uncomfy...

It takes time and personal growth to learn more about yourself. Exploring gender, and coming to accept being nonbinary, is part of that process for some of us.
So, being nonbinary isn't something you grow out of.
It's something you grow into.

How you came to know that you’re nonbinary is your business, and you don’t have to explain it if you don’t want to.
What matters is that you are here now with a better understanding of yourself.

Being nonbinary doesn't have to complicated.
You're not required to have a precise label, certain style, or to have figured it out at a specific time. You don't have to wait to use the label "nonbinary," and you don't have to keep it forever.
These are rules created by cishets and repeated by those who want their approval. All those and similar rules are best forgotten.
If you feel like "nonbinary" fits you, then you are correct to use it.

Even though you may have started questioning your gender after a friend of yours came out, it's still likely that you would have had to deal with being nonbinary anyway.
The difference is that you embraced a possibility presented to you rather than being left to suffer in ignorance for years on your own.
Learning from each other is an important part of being human, and it's very natural that this tendency would apply to gender questioning, too.

Trying to live as a cis person when you are actually nonbinary is unlikely to make you happier.
I know it's difficult and terrifying to question your gender and to accept the possibility of experiencing (more) oppression.
However, embracing who you are now is more important than the theoretical possibility of happiness if you pretend to be someone else.
Life is full of risk. Taking risks for the right reasons is what matters.

Coming out is not necessarily the only conclusion of questioning your gender.
There are many things we do simply for our own betterment.
Questioning your gender is among them, even if no one ever knows it.

Normalize gender questioning.
Examining what you take for granted is not an “abnormality.”
It's called wisdom.

You don't have to wait to use the nonbinary label just to "make sure" that it's really appropriate.
You can call yourself nonbinary whenever you feel it's right.
You can do it right now.
