Born 8 May 1835 to James Sabeston and his wife Jean Wilson, North Walls, #Orkney, #Scotland (living in Mill Bay area 1861 Census). Just inputting some data into Legacy from FindaGrave & other things I found rather quickly. But all the data points add up to create the stories. #genealogy
25 Aug 1778 a letter was written by a lawyer named George Reed, agreeing to defend Lofland in his treason case, for $500.00, but reserved the right to deny representation in 'his other case, due to personal concerns and issues.'
Considering he remarried in 1788, his first wife having died in 1781, it appears that he was either acquitted or pardoned.
He died in 1792.

When you discover that you share the exact same Mayflower ancestors with your brother in law, making him a very, very distant cousin.
His 10th great grandmother is my 11th great grandmother, via our Snow and Hopkins lines.
Scanned and uploaded 140+ family photos to the laptop.
Now to go through, edit for sharpness, reorient and label them. Then attach select ones to the family tree.

It's a glorious, though hot, Friday. A vacation day for me, but I have to do some adulting. I hate adulting.
Then it's back to the latest blog post which is done except for explaining the DNA analysis. When two brick walls meet, can DNA explode them?

Tonight’s #genealogy toot is a tale of two #sisters, both born over 100 years ago. Florence, the elder, was #married six times to five different men and had one #child (with husband 1-2). Elsie, the younger, was married to one man for 65 years, had 3 daughters, and was frequently mentioned in the local #newspaper for her #community involvement & service. Though their #parents lived like a married couple, they didn’t actually wed until Florence was 14 and Elsie, 8. #geneadons #familyhistory
