While I was taking off runway 03 at Appleton (KATW) I had two sandhill cranes do a runway incursion on me. It didn't necessitate aborting as they weren't close enough but my hand was on the throttle (as it should be) and ready to pull it. If they had been about a second slower, it would have been an aborted takeoff.

Anyway, watch out for those birds. They don't respect runway boundaries.

I had to change my cross country plan at the airport due to some others being inconsiderate with the plane I reserved. They snuck in a 1 hour reservation right before me and just didn't come back after that time expired. So I had to take another plane (lucky there was another available) but it wasn't available as long. Then the step ladder was missing from it (again, other people being inconsiderate) so I was delayed checking the fuel levels

Anyway, flew to KSUE

After three months I finally managed to be free on a nice day. I cut together some gopro footage with intercom recorded.

I was a bit distracted on the landing with the engine complaining about being cold and was way too fast. After I turned the camera off and focused more my next two landings were much better, but I have no proof :bonk:
