The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced fifteen new temples in the final session of #GeneralConference. This is common to have happen in conference and I try to guess them every time. This time, I got five right:

A second nap is a very bad idea. But the last session of #GeneralConference always feels soporific. Guess maybe I’ll do more work on the current #PaintByNumbers project.

President Oaks coming in hot with a conference talk that’s 90% scripture quotes. Opens up a whole new world of high quality talk giving and is also a subtle rebuke on how scripture, especially the words of Christ, can sometimes be missing from our Church meetings.

Discussing differences is fine, and there is certainly a place for appropriate anger, but contention goes nowhere.

Okay but was that version of “The Lord Is My Shepherd“ arranged by a soprano who didn’t realize they were the descant and not the melody? #GeneralConference

I don't like the shift toward moving some leadership and other church wide announcements onto the Internet while still asking members to sustain or oppose to them in the conference (I don’t think “you can find these on the Church’s website” is enough). Conference is a place for church business and inspiration and while the vast majority of members have access to internet not all do.

The twice-annual #GeneralConference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Saturday and Sunday. It has inspirational messages and music and this is also the time when church policy changes and new temple announcements are made.

i committed to watch some of #GeneralConference with a friend (who attends multiple #mormon denominations).

i have tuned in before out of curiosity, but the vibes are not for me. however, it is the week before Community of Christ's #WorldConference and i would like to compare and contrast the differences between the paralell, but not identical, latter day saint church conferences.
