Technically it's still Friday night, so here's another track I was thinking of. Grunge is not a genre most folk would associate with Moby, but this cover of Missions of Burma's "That's When I Reach For My Revolver" is probably my favourite thing he's recorded. Starts off pretty gently, then about a minute in he really starts going for it. Would pay good money to see that live (v envious of the top commenter on the video!)

This week's #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #GenreBenders and there seems to be a few approaches to this. Some are going with covers of songs that are a totally different genre to the original and others are going with bands/artists who have came along and mashed a couple of genres together and created something new/cool . Late as usual, but have been giving tonight's jukebox theme some thought. Also noticed two different versions of the hashtag were on the go so I've included both (though the not-plural one seems more popular).

These guys were quite the genre benders when I first heard them in the early 90s - they're a rock band, but rock rock or funk rock? Jazz rock or pop rock?!

Mick Collins and co. were among the best of the turn-of-the century garage rock explosion. Their mix of soul and R&B with the usual dirty, lo-fi rock n' roll set them apart. All their albums are great, but this is from my personal favorite, "Ultraglide in Black."
