Day 28 – Generative poetry.
The final line from Spike Milligan's poem 'Well Bread'.
Lots of silly songs & poems in my life now with a little one.

"Generative poetry"
I struggled with this one a bit. I ended up visualizing the syllabic pattern of a haiku in a sea of noise.

Didn't engage with poems when I was literally paying to study them and I'm certainly not gonna do it now. Jumbled the beginning of neuromancer and called it a day.

Using some English syllable statistics here and the results looks like a little more middle English than modern English to me. I haven't worked out how to get meter or rhyme yet.
Still "boodlepointless", "fattinglying", and "tenderlayingly" are worth the price of admission.

Today's #genuary had me stumped for a bit, but then I ended up with this fun and inspirational little jibberish generator. Most of what it generates is meant to be humorous, but sometimes you'd think it was actually trying to talk to you 👀

The algorithm is combining random vowels and consonants to build words. It's using my homemade plotting font (wip) that is designed not to lift the pen unnecessarily 🖋️

Day 28: Generative poetry
I asked ChatGPT to write a poem about nostalgia in the style of Robert Frost, if he were alive today and his formative years were in the 1980s and 1990s. Rendered with my Underwood typewriter algorithm.

I wanted to use something, which I can program myself. Started using simple markov chains in #python with subsets of a poems dataset I found on keagle: https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/michaelarman/poemsdataset
Well, nothing whith proper rhyming. But mixing different topics produced quite some nice and interpretable results. Here are my top three.
(produced a bunch of nonse, too)

I asked chatGPT to write a poem like G. Apollinaire about the sea using the functions and contants of the Math object (JS). I then tried to make a random caligram of it.

Technically, #genuary28 is supposed to be generative poetry. But actually, I wrote something poetry-adjacent, a twitter bot that I've always wanted to create. Follow it at https://twitter.com/champagne__bot. No P5js code, sorry. #genuary
Day 28: Generative poetry
For this prompt I decided to revisit my system for creating asemic glyphs. Here is a poem by Lady Ono no Komachi in one randomly generated synthetic script:
Visible colours
(Invisible passions)
Fade from
This world's
Human hearts
And flowers.
Coded in #Rstats using #ggplot2 and #ggforce. Code and more examples of outputs can be found in my #Genuary 2023 repo:

I put a crude sentence generator together, but I was left wondering what exactly to do with it. There’s a beautiful moment when you’re trying different things on a project you don’t know how to finish and then—Oh!
