This was originally going to be a plant for #genuary9, but it was more fun to animate it. Animated with plenty of sine waves for #genuary15.

I'm a day late so I singularised the prompt to save time & I really need to actually randomise that animation a bit & I'm aware even as someone who loathes nature that plants don't tend to degrow & i have not fixed ....

Oh, and I guess since today's prompt is "Plants", I could be cheeky and tag this with #genuary9 as well! :-)
Genuary day 9: plants
This idea didn’t work out as well as I was hoping, but oh well. That’s what happens with tight time constraints. I can add polish later, as well as try so of the other ideas I had for this prompt.

This could use a lot more work, but for #genuary9 (plants) I created a quick sketch that draws abstract symmetric floral designs inspired by Persian ornamentation. #genuary https://editor.p5js.org/isohedral/sketches/4cKpzcRSy

I had a bad case of the Mondays today, but I managed to make something satisfying regardless. Technically cool, but not very original. Still, it's always fun to play around with iterated function systems. Ferns are one of my favorite plants. So ancient and mysterious looking. I compiled several fern functions into one code, and made them a bit malleable with interactivity.
#GENUARY 2023 Day 9:
Plants.
not what I planned but this will do

Day 09 – Plants.
Some kind of succulent-like plant using the phyllotaxis arrangment.
Either that or a bowl of fluffy peas.

Here I use @casadebaig's #Rstats package {generate} to generate some plants. The code is available in my #Genuary2023 repository:

Day 9: Plants.
Move the sun with your mouse, the plant gradually grows towards it. Very loosely inspired by Powder Game, a physics simulation game that was one of my favorite games in middle school: https://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/

Day 9 Prompt for #Genuary 2023: "Plants"
Playing with adding some flowers at the end of branches for this prompt.

GENUARY day 9:
'Plants'
Triangles that become either flowers or grass depending on their distance to certain reference points.

When I saw the prompt for today, I knew I wanted to try out a recursive function, because I've never really done anything like that before.
And just for kicks, I wanted to see if chatGPT could help me write the code that I was unfamiliar with :-)
Jumping last minute on the #genuary9 train, I will post stuff I make in the time I find between work and graduation.
for the "Plants" prompt: I found out it's called prickly pear, where I come from we call it "indian ficus". I don't like the fruits
