It's a good thing I brought the from yesterday home already or I'd be playing it right now instead of working (and now I'm talking about it anyway)

is bad enough, but I'm also much happier when I'm hyperfocusing

I can't even tell myself that One Day This Will Be Professionally Useful like some other recent focus points ( )

@spacemagick I have, but it doesn't explain much. The same channel has a series that's supposed to build up to more slowly, but hasn't yet reached anything I didn't already know. I'm not sure they are still updating the series.

I made a comment on a video on . The guy responded with an answer and invited me to join the forum on the topic. Weird, but OK. I did that. He liked the LI post, so I know he saw it.

Then he replied to me. On youtube. To ask me to expand on my post. On linkedin.

I ignored that as the ravings of a loon.

Today he replied again. On youtube.

Just...what's even going on right now? I don't know what's real anymore.

is really starting to piss me off. Show me:

1. an application
2. developed in detail without handwaving

I'm starting to think it's all just an elaborate joke.

@gnomekat Yeah, even the " for Computer Science" book is very theorem/proof oriented. You can find philosophical talks on youtube, but they are mathematical philosophy. I want like...to see it in practice without getting into the mathematical underpinnings.

Fascinating paper on Cliffoed Neural Layers - a technique to use neural networks to use geometric algebra (for eg: convolutional kernel with multivector components) for modeling of partial differential equations: arxiv.org/pdf/2209.04934.pdf

Scratch "assemble mixer pcb" off the list--it works as designed! Which isn't much, but I'm a n00b!

Also scratch "two voices" off the list--they work as intended! Which isn't amazing (only square really makes an impact...?), but I'm a n00b!

Also also scratch off the list--I did a bunch of problems! I got semi-stuck, but I'm still a n00b!

Video of some of this later.

Well, did it again. Right now my Interest List is:

-
- assemble mixer pcb that came back last week
- read files
- two voices
- think about low-part-count implementation idea for
- work on problem sets (from good-so-far book: geometricalgebra.org/)
- take birthday present manim course (manim.community/, but more than basics)
- read Empire of the and

That on top of a real job and a

Still learning more about . I can definitely see how it works for geometrical theory ideas (including computer graphics).

How well does it work for geometrical *numerical* ideas? I mean like "fitting a best plane to measured values" and things of that nature? Is there development of a least squares concept for instance?

So.... It seems pretty neat. But all the info on it is either very mathematical or very philosophical. Not much of it is practical.

"We can make a game engine!" A page of math follows and then an animation. OK, but exactly how did those mathematical objects become pixels? "A motor in Rn" is not helpful.

How can I turn my problems into geometric algebra and then back into solutions? Are there worked examples for dummies like myself?

Picking up for physicists again, should hopefully get through it this time.

It describes an algebra that allows you to unify translations, rotations, physics across different numbers of dimensions, along with reducing the number of algebras needed to express different aspects of physics from spinors to electrical dynamics and many others.

Unfortunately for me, I never really did higher level maths, so a lot of textbooks are written in a way that's not really targeted at me. 🤞

I'm a mid-20's software engineer in the midwest united states, I do development professionally and as a hobby, with a strong bent on projects in my free time.

I'm the author of several libraries for Clojure including and .

I'm fluent in () and like learning languages, especially .

Lately I've been diving into in order to unify my physics code in my game engines.

I care for three cats.
