@liamcollod Absolutely! Its high on my list of desires for blender. As far as I can tell vdb files are read in, and abc anim via the MeshSequenceCache modifier. The .abc mesh data still apperas to be imported as blender-data though.

I'd even be happy with a geometry nodes 'read' or 'file' node, that would do the trick.

is there a way to do variable subdivision surfaces with in ? I want to have some parts of a mesh heavily subdivided so that I can use dynamic paint on it, but don't need the whole thing to have such a high poly count. I'm thinking of using weight paint to select the high res parts, but the subdivision surface node only has a single float value for the level input, not a field.
