One possible explanation is that the #departentofeducation was aware of the problem and subsumed dealing with it into the "building schools for the future" of capital investment launched by #edballs towards the end of the #labour government. This was cancelled in 2010 by the incoming #conservative and #libdem coalition government. Not clear whether this was the #treasury - #georgeosborne - or the #departmentofeducation - #michaelgove advised by #dominiccummings .

This is all down to a really iffy deal made early on in the coalition by #georgeosborne . The previous arrangement - going back for centuries - actually capped what the royals could get. This removed the cap and created a weird kind of profit sharing arrangement about the crown estate. Now a version of the previous arrangement would be the one cap I would love to see #labour favouring!

What strikes me about the so-called 'poison pen' email sent to George Osborne's wedding guests and friends is how well written it is. Much of the content is widely known in political and media circles. What the lengthy missive shows is that Osborne is a wrong 'un (as if we didn't already know that).
