The other preposterous talking point being rolled out against Californians who want full representation in Congress, is "age discrimination." 🙄

I guaran-damn-tee you that not one of them has ever agitated for the end of rampant age discrimination in the Senate, which has an absolute bar to anyone under the age of 30 serving. They're in favor of age disc - so long as it's not against their age cohort, which is vastly over-represented in Congress.

How do we know that the UK is an economy run for the benfit of older generations?

One measure is the proportion of GDP accounted for by #pension assets... in Germany its 8%, in France it 12% & in Japan 31%...

but in the UK its 120% of GDP... (the USA os even higher at 174%).

To some extent this is a reflection of the privatisation of pension provision against an historic low-rate of public pensions... but nonetheless offers some (albeit partial) evidence of the existence of a #gerontocracy
