Right now in my job search I am exploring both geology adjunct lecturer positions as well as jobs in industry (specifically, processing materials related to planetary science).

Hey all, friend of mine (who I'll happily recommend and vouch for) is switching careers, and been looking for their next job. Non-traditional path into tech, but reasonably skilled, and has VERY good people interaction skills (given their background somewhat unsurprising).
