Gute Butter
Zwei Gläser schönes #Ghee (geklärte #Butter) habe ich heute gemacht. Und zwei Bleche #Cracker aus #Sauerteig gebacken. Und eigentlich auch noch drei #Toastbrote. Aber da ich vergessen hatte, die #Hefe zuzugeben, war die ganze Mühe für die Katz. Ich werde wohl langsam senil. 🙄

Guide to making your own #ghee
1. 500g blocks of unsalted butter (I tend to use 4) in a deep & light coloured saucepan on low heat.
2. Once melted the milk solids will form a cap on top of the liquid. Never stir through this entire process, just blow on top if you want to see what's happening underneath.
3. When you can scoop up granules & the liquid is a golden brown you're done. Set to cool then pour into sterilised jars with a fine metal seive. Chill.

Nothing beats home made. I made another batch of #ghee recently and wish the price of #butter wasn't so high here in New Zealand. Still worth it though as its the main source of fat in my #diet and a delicious one at that. #cooking #recipes #food
