Checking in on my Pixelfed experiment, there seem to be some issues where content I'm boosting over there is not appearing over here. 😠

I don't know if it's because I'm on a small self-hosted instance, or if some of the problems I experienced with my own self-hosted server are also plaguing the flagship pixelfed.social instance.

On this weekend's experiment docket is seeing how well a self-hosted Ghost CMS instance works as an off-ramp from Substack.

So, why(afaik) most tools that export the content from #GhostCMS either scrape the public site or work out of the #JSON export file which is a web UI triggered experimental feature that uses a private API, instead of going through the front door and use the official Content API [1] ?

My guesses:

* those tools are already many years old and maybe the content API wasn't mature/existing back then
* it's easier to run #wget recursively on the public site maybe?
