You don't expect to see a tree this big in central Australia - one of the biggest ghost gums on record at about 33m tall can be seen in the East MacDonnell Ranges at Trephina Gorge Nature Park, around 79km East of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. The ghost gum (Corymbia aparrerinja) is endemic to central Australia and typically grows up to 20m tall.
