Yea, it’s Gibsunday 🤩
Here’s my 1989 Gibson Explorer 90 Double. Yes, I love this series and I also had to have the rarest model - which I found and purchased about 20 years ago. It’s in „low tuning“ most of the time (dropped b flat in my case). Bridge pu is a Bill Lawrence L-500XL, the neck pu an L-280S.
I decided to place it besides this original 80s Marshall „quarter-stack“, or how do you call it? 😅😁☺️

@EarthmanByron @cmonster I think if I was taller, a D-18 would be the one for me, but I’ve owned a couple of dreads and they just weren’t comfortable for me. I’ve a Bourgeois OM Custom (Sitka/Mahogany) and it’s a fabulous guitar. But these days it has to battle against my Gibson SJ-150 or J-185 for top spot.

Pretty wee thing. Not sure I’ll gig it much but currently it’s probably my favourite to play round the house and write with. I could see me taking it on a train or plane as it’s a bit smaller and easier to transport.

I know some of you have had a sleepless night wondering how the new strings have shaped up today… Well, I have more exciting news. All is good. They sound just fine and the lighter gauge and the Newtone round cores feel nice under the fingers too. So everyone can relax now. Expect more urgent updates if I see a squirrel or a fire engine drives by.

Put some new strings on the wee Gibson L1. Newtone 12-54 80/20s. Not sure they sound as good as the John Pearse mediums I had on before but sometimes a new set of strings need a couple of days to settle in. It’s been a slow news day.

I just finished a fret dress on this 1968 Gibson Country Western Model. It's a super neat Some things to point out, it originally had an adjustable saddle. The slot has since been filled in and routed for a more traditional saddle. The "top-belly" bridge is bolted on, and designed to help withstand the pull of the strings.
