When #amazon or any other shipper sends you a box padded with brown paper, save it. That paper is essentially unbleached newsprint and makes great wrap. You won't need to buy any during the holidays, and everyone loves the packages wrapped up in brown paper!

While I can't help lamenting the myriad yuletide projects I didn't get around to this season (or dreading having to store their respective still-strewn supplies), I'm still quite excited to wrap presents. The tutorials on QiDaoYugift's YouTube channel trend to help me feel I've at least accomplished something—even IF the extent of creativity involved should only extend as far as following instructions. 😅

We didn't get any gift cards envelopes this year when buying gift cards for teachers.

Scout and I were discussing a digital art printout that we could cut, fold, and glue. Somehow googly eyes got involved...

We ended up making piles of these individually. It was fun.

Scout lobbied for added the tongue, I think it makes them so charming.

Ya...that first gift took me 2 hours to figure out the amount of paper I needed. And turned out much more crinkled than I'd like. (The bottom looks great!) 🤦

This is why I prefer wrapping with cloth.

I’ve been continuing to play with #fractal texture fields. They’re hard to turn into any kind of normal composition, because they tend to be fairly uniform, and lacking in any focal point. Eventually I realized I could render them at big sizes and have them printed as wrapping paper. Now I need to give more things to people, so as to use some of it up. #holiday #GiftWrap

I use fabric to wrap our Christmas gifts and photos like this from Liberty makes me very happy….

(it also makes me wish, yet again, that I could sew). I should take my own advice and take it up anyway, but it’s an expensive thing to dabble in.
