The theme for this month's Character Design Challenge is "Fairytale Fighting Arena," imagining characters from classic fairy tales in all-out combat.
It's not much discussed, but the Witch from Hansel and Gretel was skilled at building a lot more than just houses out of gingerbread and candy!

Done is better than perfect...
Though I have to say I'm impressed the house is still standing. Late last night I watched the roof slide out of place, and expected everything to fall apart while I slept. Instead it looks like it fixated there. Given what I was aiming for let's call it A Happy Accident :bob_ross:
(Why the cloche? Well, I have one, for starters, but mostly because Alea The Black Cat lick anything that smells of butter.)

This is 95% due to me being unskilled and working with bad tools, and 5% me designing the house this way. I wanted something askew that looked like it barely kept together. If I ever revisit "Café Tea-Rex" it'll have stronger support under the surface.
The window "glass" is made from crushed hard candy, and the light comes from three electrical tealights.

I'm one of those Christians that celebrate Christmas for a full twelve days. I mostly do it by chilling, plus making reckless Christmas food experiments. And by making that gingerbread house that needs to be tailor made to my gigantic cloche, and that I never seem to be able to finish before Christmas Eve. Here's the 2022 template.
