The Shangri-Las waren één van de populairste van de tot ze in 1968 problemen kregen met hun platenlabel, het niet uitbetaald krijgen van royalty's, daarop besluiten ze te stoppen. Mary-Ann kampt sindsdien met een drugsverslaving en sterft op 14 maart 1970 aan een overdosis.

Wat we ook zien is de opgang van , veel meer dan de groepen, waarvan de meest beroemde in 2000 stopt.
Veel reünies zullen volgen maar ook daar zien we in het begin van het nieuwe millenium dat vrouwen terug minder voor vol worden aanzien. En vooral als "object".
Al zullen er terug vele nieuwe opstaan, en de spice girls qua verkoop overvleugeld worden door de band en krijgen we in de lage landen die records verpulvert

How am I just discovering The Liverbirds? One of the first all-girl bands to come out of the Mersey scene that birthed the Beatles. Just competent enough to be nice to listen. It's kind of like a competent 60's Shaggs. I wonder if @thatericalper has heard them before.

I like Yellow Fang! Their stuff sounds to me like a cross between The Breeders and Belly, two bands from the 90s Boston scene that I love, and Fazerdaze, a really cool New Zealand shoegaze rocker. You might like her first album Morningside, which I have been obsessed with for 5 years:
