GitLens looks useful but the VS Code extension expires the βPro" features after a few days. The cost to keep these features is $5/mo. That seems pretty steep at $60/yr when there are great tools like GitUp which are Open Source and free. The features built into VS Code and available with other extensions are also quite good.

#gitkraken new experimental feature 'Git Executable' does not work when using local ssh key? @gitkraken
@gunchleoc
I have settled on #GitKraken. (But my employer pays the license, so there's that...)

@adamchainz gitkraken works nicely for resolving conflicts in merges and rebases, both for ones started from the cli and from the #gitkraken ui. The conflict editor is not (completely) free, and you need to pay for private repos as well.
Anyone used #GitKraken with #Codeberg? Also, anyone used #Codeberg pages to host a static website (like you can with Github pages)?
Am looking at doing both, so any tips, warnings or other info gratefully received π
Fuck #GitKraken, I tested them once and after telling them to stop sending me their stupid mail they started to send it again
We recently released a new experimental minimap feature on the Commit Graph in #GitLens. It adds a whole new dimension to the tabular layout of the Commit Graph.
You can try it out today in the pre-release edition of #GitLens.
We really want to hear what you think!

@thalskarth I find #gitkraken as excellent client. https://www.gitkraken.com/
Nice one! #GitKraken now supports bypassing git hooks during commits. This has been one of the occasions I still needed to go back to the console for commits (I know, real coders use console ONLY)
@geoffrich @hi_mayank I started using #GitKraken a few years ago and it was life changing. Great if you have to deal with very complex diffs. https://www.gitkraken.com

Yeah, I get this way with the general love for magit. Gotta admit, magit is light-years better than CLI git, but for my money, I get a huge amount of value (ease of use mainly) out of #GitKraken even though it's outside of #emacs. I understand the love, but I can't live by Emacs alone π
After years of using #Sourcetree I have finally decided to upgrade to #GitKraken. The deciding factor was SSH integration and customization. Paying $60/yr for a fancy Git client is reasonable for the extra features.
The GitKraken Client Client 9.0 release includes new Local Workspaces to make working with multiple repos easier and a preview of GitKraken Insights.

A look back at all the software I used for programming in 2022. Perhaps you'll find something useful for when you're programming.

@eamodio oh dear. I tried a rebase with #GitKraken. I... have some bugs to report.
Pretty excited about the new #GitKraken 9.
Awesome new features and lots of improvements.
#GitKraken released
I used it in the past, sadly they want money which I cannot effort anymore.
Switched to SmartGit + git without any GUI.
