I know of at least 5 mountains named "Elk Mountain." Along with "Red Mountain," this has to be one of the most common peak names in the Rockies.
Anyway, here's Elk Mountain, in Glacier NP, about 15 miles northeast of the closest other Elk Mountain.

One of the days, I encountered some two-day old bear tracks. Fellow was post-holing his way up the trail I was following. It’s a bit surprising, since the bears are supposed to be sleeping this time of year, but it was a bad berry summer, so he might still be hungry.
