If you've even been in Finnieston area of Glasgow and seen this monkey hanging from a wire on Minerva Street and wondered what it's doing there, the Glasgow Information and Kultural Identity Taskforce (or Glaikit for short) have an explanation for you which they've kindly put on a plaque nearby.

I had I fun afternoon today tracking down another three of the five 'Glaikit' plaques that have appeared around Glasgow recently.

Apart from the one I posted yesterday about the Elephants of Maryhill Locks, I think this one from the Botanic Gardens is my favourite. 🤣🤣🤣

I've still got the High Street one to find.

I came across this on my morning run along the Forth and Clyde Canal in Glasgow this morning. Who knew they used elephants to help build the Maryhill Locks.
