The Govanhill Picture House. This wonderful Egyptian-inspired Art Deco cinema was designed by Eric Sutherland and opened in 1926. It seated over a thousand people, and showed its last film in 1961.

Tower on the rear elevation of Alexander 'Greek' Thomson's Great Western Terrace in the west end of Glasgow which was built in the 1870s, making it one of his final works.

In some ways this feature foreshadows the many towers and turrets which went on to become a common element of tenement buildings across the city by the end of the 19th Century.

With the right sort of attention and sensitive restoration, Carlton street could become a real gem in Glasgow's architecture.

Carlton Street on the south bank of the Clyde in Glasgow.

Lined with sandstone buildings which have seen better days, this street still retains the look and feel of a traditional Glasgow city centre street. This gives it a huge amount of potential, especially given the opposite bank of the Clyde has been swamped by new buildings with little or no character whatsoever.

The brilliantly named Kelvinside Artistic Stationery Works on Herbert Street in the west end of Glasgow.

Built in 1898 and designed by Thomson, Turnbull and Peacock in no particular architectural style. However, there's a certain elegant simplicity to this building's design which I really love.
