I've walked, run, driven and cycled up Bryres Road in Glasgow hubdreds of times, but only noticed this remnant of Glasgow's long-gone electric trolleybus/tram network for the first tine yesterday. It's at the junction with Great Western Road opposite Oran Mor.

Tram rossettes on Glasgow Tenements.
When the Glasgow tram network was electrified at the end of the 19th Century, these rossettes were installed to help support the wires.
While the trams stopped operating in 1962, you can still follow many of the old routes by looking for these distinctive remnants on the sides of buildlings.

Former tram shelter on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. Designed by Frank Burnet and Boston Architects and built in 1914, it's the only known example of such a large and ornate tram shelter to be built in Scotland.
