So experimenting with Glaze for some of my 2d art and it keeps failing with "insufficient protection", even with Intensity and Render Quality set to max (mostly for experimenting). I'm using web-scaled images, ~600px, and the Windows GPU version. Anyone have thoughts on why?
I'd really like a library and/or CLI implementation of #Glaze so that images can be protected from AI crawlers on larger scales, from a script, a server backend, etc.
Also interested in other methods to contribute to the poisoning of data or conducting attacks against AI training models.
So I was experimenting with WebGlaze and got all these done -- at 10 intensity, you can't see anything, and 40 intensity it looks like an old JPG. I think the 30 is a high enough balance between "can't scrape it" and "still looks good" so that's the profile pic I'll be using. đ§”#art #glaze

Huh. I hadn't heard of Glaze before.
Apparently Glaze is a project/software that a visual artist can use to subtly poison their artwork against harvesting in AI data sets.
It seems the image is "cloaked" in a manner which is not obvious to the human eye, but makes the image less comprehensible to an AI.

Recently been looking at a software called 'Glaze' that can protect artists from AI Minicry and other ai art scraping and generating software that can trick them into perceiving your artwork as something abstract instead of what is actually draw.
Here are some links about it:

Not necessarily a one size fits all solution, but definately a big first foot forward that will continue to develop in the right direction

i wonder how difficult and CPU intensive it would be to add a component like #Glaze to and image upload processor...
Like, take you federation post, when you attach media, could glaze or #imageMagick or even #ffmpeg process the upload? Users could opt-in or out to having protections applied to an upload. I get that it's an AI arms race now, but i guess this is the next actionable option?

Artists of Mastodon, check out this new tool!
Glaze is designed to protect artistsâ style -which a bunch of ai people have been deliberately fine-tuning their models to mimic (and specifically of current living artists-small or big).
It's for PC use only at the moment, but give it a chance to protect your artwork

So next round of firing just came out of the kiln, and like any good scientist I changed several things at once, half of them failed.
The glazes I mixed up from raw ingredients from a glazy recipe both turned out a little thin. The recipe did not mention what gravity to mix them to, so I just used 1.4
Maybe I'll double dip next time?
The tin raspberry turned into the slightest hint of pink.
The new clay body is so nice and chocolate, but the glaze did not like single firing
I found a glaze combination that says beach to my brain. #ceramics #SoftWhiteIndigoFloat #glaze #painting #art #ArtistonMastodon

So I was messing around with #glaze (the tool that claims to mitigate some AI scraping) and it seems like it actually compliments my style pretty well, haha. Makes sense with all the glitch effects.
It also seems completely defeated by some of my other pieces, which is interesting.
"Efforts are underway to protect artists from images generated through #AI â a software named #Glaze that prevents the imitation of
artwork.
Glaze applies small changes, difficult to perceive with the human eye, to images of artwork before they are posted online. This causes AI to interpret the #artwork as a different style than it actually is, thereby preventing creation of similar pieces.
The artists have to be protected"

That's interesting, thanks.
I'd supposed that the article included AI scraping as it's dated March this year.
I heard of Glaze recently but haven't used it yet. That may be of more interest to artists but writers should consider it too, so that cover art etc for their publications isn't reappropriated without consent.
P.s. I see there is a Simple NoAI and NoImageAI plugin for WordPress sites.
Final results. I am really very satisfied because he came out exactly as I hoped. The details of the dish remained exactly as I expected and I find the composition very right. The recipient of the gift was really amazed and as soon as she got home she immediately wanted to send me a photo of where she placed the dish. The color chosen for the small bowl was a Castelli orange #glaze (Castelli is a very famous village in the area for its ceramics and #pottery artists)
Me: tries to understand Glaze and what that would mean for protecting my artwork

To any #artists out there that are worried about their art being scrapped for #ai, check out glaze, http://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/ .
Apparently it's really good at messing with ai, but leaving the overall image alone. I'm not entirely sure because I'm not an artist, and haven't used it. It'll mess with ai models that try to use pieces of reference art that were processed by #glaze.
Does anyone know if a version of Glaze is available on Linux or if the anti AI noise can be generated with ImageMagick or the GIMP ?
