Ich habe heute gehört, dass das Programm #gimp besser #GNUImp genannt werden sollte, da gimp auch eine, nicht mehr gebräuchliche Bezeichnung für Krüppel ist.

Das ganze ist im August 2019 aufgekommen.
Wer ist denn mit G(NU)IMP unterwegs und kann mir sagen, was sich durchgesetzt hat?

As per previous replies, we are finally winding down the project. We've penciled in 2023-05-23 as the date when #Glimpse will finally disappear.

We have kept the website, GitHub project & binaries online for a couple of years in case former contributors wanted to pick up the rewrite, or a new group of contributors wanted to pick up the fork.

The program has started to break now though, and our past contributors have mostly moved on to other things. We feel that it's time to tie up loose ends.

@LunaRogue @vantablack I installed #Glimpse as a #snap and didn't have read access to my own home directory. I tried to build Glimpse from source and ran into some kind of dependency hell that I couldn't figure out how to resolve.

I just wanted to point out that there is a more accessible version (for people coming from Adobe Photoshop) of the GNU image manipulation program that even has a less disturbing name and other good features

Oh my, "Incandescence" by Nii Ayikwei Parkes in the #Glimpse anthology is one of the finest stories I've ever read. It dances with language, storytelling, meaning and the audience under its glare. It is, in a word, brilliant.
