At first the latest from @themarkup looks like just another surveillance dystopia story...but check it out, Xandr is owned by Microsoft.
So (If you're in the USA) all you have to do is
(1) get a #globalPrivacyControl browser or extension
(2) use your GPC browser to log in to your #gitHub account if you have one
(3) Problem solved -- and $MSFT has already agreed to respect #CCPA/#CPRA opt outs nationwide
#globalPrivacyControl #github #ccpa
sitting in a cafe, now wondering if the captive portal supports #globalPrivacyControl, will probably try to figure that out some time
@glidingbird It's part of a #privacy toolset. Another part is #globalprivacycontrol #gpc to opt out if you visit a domain. An authorized agent like #PermissionSlip from #ConsumerReports can handle apps, companies you deal with offline, and data brokers you don't have a direct connection to

Auto accept is not a good idea for many reasons. For now hiding the consent dialog is workable
Two future-proof approaches
(1) finish Firefox support for #globalPrivacyControl -- right now the header is there but not the Ui. Could be: on first visit to a GPC site, prompt the user for a GPC choice, remember and apply elsewhere
(2) detect and overwrite IAB GPP with user's chosen consent (this will be more work, more info: https://iabtechlab.com/gpp/ )
