Tonight I tried Glögg.
What is Glögg?
It is a traditional Swedish drink, basically mulled wine.
But this is Alkoholfri (Alcohol Free)
I know people might think alcohol free wine is basically grape juice, but it’s more than that. There’s usually extra spices and flavours you can taste.
This was very sweet, fruity and almost flowery? I can taste some spices maybe cardamom? And a little bit citrusy.
So more than grape juice (this no Ribeena)
Sometimes I just want to have a drink and I find these alcohol free drinks scratch the same itch more or less.
I’ll have to try alcoholic Glögg some time to compare. But this is definitely a good experience.

I made gløgg! The cinnamon stick absorbed the flavors from the wine, orange peel, cardamom pods, and cloves, so I thought it would make a good offering to the spirits

My version!
🍷 0.5L #RedWine 'no added sulphites' (best taste/no headache) ~ Fave : DAVIDA, #Spain Garnacha (any tannins gone w/heat, 14% dilutes well)
💧 0.5L water
🌿 ≈6g #spices (e.g cinnamon/nutmeg/clove/allspice/orange peel) ~ Fave : Schwartz blend 2bag
🍯 2Tbsp #honey
🌰 140g almonds/sunflower seeds/pumpkin seeds/raisins/cranberry

Simmer 5min
Serve w/spoon & enjoy!

So, #ChatGPT knows how to make date strings in Linux. I just asked it to write a date string that would produce Wed Dec 28, 2022 format, and it did it correctly.

I hardly ever RTFM, and with ChatGPT around, I may never.

PS: It generates a great #Glogg recipe, too!

Pro tip: after you make glögg or wassail, save the wine-simmered fruit, and spread it on your smørbrød over a layer of cream cheese. YUM.
