My brothers, my sister-in-law, and I went to see #JethroTull at #GloucesterCathedral Friday evening. It was -2°C, there was no heating, and my brother and I were sat by the door. 🥶

The concert was great entertainment, and they had two guest performers: #MarcAlmond and #LoydGrossman †; Loyd fucking Grossman! Both were excellent, with the latter doing some serious rocking out singing and playing guitar.

(† #LloydGrossman for everyone who spells his name wrongly, with two Ls.)

The medieval choir stalls in Gloucester Cathedral have carved “misericords”, “mercy seats”, that the monks who were to stand whilst chanting Holy Office, could raise to perch on, thus taking the weight off their feet. The carvings were generally hidden, but when exposed give a hint of anarchy in the wood carvers’ guild …
