So far my impression of #GnomeMPV is works okay, pretty basic and not friendly to new users. Does not respect DVD menus, which reduces its usefulness quite a bit. Probably integrates well with a Gnome desktop, but otherwise not superior to VLC.

A poor choice to switch at this point on #UbuntuMATE 's part. Maybe if it was made a lot more user-friendly and the glaring problem of poor DVD handling was fixed, but not right now.
