@NatalyMillan No se, muchos, no todos ni mucho menos venimos a mastodon desde el pajarito y otros muchos en #GNUsocial antes de mastodon, muchos muchos venimos del pajarraco y si bien no no hemos cerrado nustras cuentas ahora ya nuestra red principal y mas que principal comparada con el pajarraco, apenas ni publicamos, ni faveamos ni nda de nada, solo stalkeamos. Y Threads de Jack Dorsey cofundador del pajarraco ni lo voy a pisar.

Ich war viele Jahre komplett ohne Social Media. Vor vielen Jahren hatte ich einen Facebook Account. Den habe ich irgendwann gelöscht weil der FB Algorithmus es schafft das schlechteste in mir zum Vorschein zu bringen. Vor einiger Zeit dann zu Twitter. Sobald klar war dass Musk übernimmt habe ich das Konto zur Löschung eingestellt. Seitdem Mastodon.

When we say #BotFarmTimeline we mean the #ExploreTimeline, of course, designed to favour entities with #botFarms backing them.

Mastodon should also restore their javascript-free interface that was recently dropped.

We really need to see other server types like #Epicyon (named after a type of big wild canine), #GNUSocial, and #FireFish gainmore developer interest.

Pergunta sobre o #Mastodon:

Na #Gnusocial (tb pertencente ao #fediverso), cada hashtag que utilizamos acaba ficando na barra lateral de nosso próprio profile, criando algo semelhante a uma nuvem de tags.

Isso é muito interessante, pois ajuda a organizar muito o que postamos e facilita para encontrar nossos próprios conteúdos.

E o Mastodon, teria algo semelhante?

Outra pergunta: o Mastodon permite #Markdown ?

I just learned about #gnusocial today and I was/still am intrigued by it. I might just stand up a server to see what it is all about.

I really wish #Mastodon had not removed support for #ostatus back in 2019. There may have been a technical reason for this but I wish the devs between #gnusocial and mastodon had reached out to each other to work on this. I'll bet had they worked together, something else wonderful could've been built.

I just found some old screenshots of my laptop. Turns out I have been on #fediverse since at least 2015. I was on quitter.no, a #GNUSocial instance

My main complaint with #Meta joining the #Fediverse via #Project92 / #Barcelona / #Thread is not that they're a big company, but that they'll disrupt the network as a whole.

The long-term endgame here will probably be #Meta no longer properly federating with other software like #Mastodon and #Pleroma, forming its own little "metaverse" and federating with other big tech sites, like #Tumblr.

Short term, there are other consequences, like instances getting strained under the weight of all the new users.

And yes, #Meta is probably doing "embrace, extend, extinguish" here. Interestingly enough, the tactics here aren't all too different than #Mastodon's tactics when it refused to support the large wealth of features found on software like #Friendica and #GNUSocial, but the main difference is #Mastodon is #FOSS, while #Meta's new project is not. #Pleroma can adapt to #Mastodon changes, even if #Mastodon breaks something on purpose, because #Mastodon is #FOSS and therefore we can see how it works. That's not a luxury we can enjoy with #Meta's new software tbh.

I don't think the proper approach is the join the #Fedipact though. Remember what happened with #Gab? Tons of people left that site and joined the #Fediverse instead, and not the site is off on its own floundering in irrelevancy somewhere. This moment here is yet another opportunity for use to try to convince more people to switch from using corporate software to using #FOSS software for social media.

Dentre as variantes do #Fediverso, parece haver mais dificuldade de enxergar algumas plataformas.

Por exemplo, os perfis do fediverse.blogs ou do #Gnusocial, que são diferentes do #Mastodon, são bastante difíceis de enxergar, apesar de fazerem parte do mesmo universo.

Qual seria a raiz dessa dificuldade? Seria de servidor? De aplicativo? Da linguagem das plataformas?
