I totally forgot about #goaccess parser. It is such a joy to use it and to read data from exported html files, mmmm.
Switched from #matomo to #goaccess https://github.com/allinurl/goaccess/ on my personal #hugo blog to keep everything more static. The best part is that I fixed many small issues like missing pages or redirections.
https://goaccess.io works like an absolute treat. Only one command to get some server-side insides. No cookies required to learn something about your websites traffic. ❤️
For nginx, use the following:
zcat -f /var/log/nginx/access.log* | goaccess --log-format=COMBINED -o report.html
Tomorrow I'll try https://goaccess.io/
This looks very promising.

A month ago, I promised a comparison between #plausible and #goaccess + server logs.
It's finally here [0] but much shorter than anticipated simply because @markosaric already made a great post [1] with nearly identical results and with excellent explanations.
Maybe just read his instead 😎
Thanks again to @AlexMV12 for providing the bash script to use goaccess with caddy logs.

Alright, the 30 days challenge of "no stats vs #plausible vs #goaccess " is back on thanks to the amazing @AlexMV12 and his bash script to make goaccess understand caddy logs!!!
Here's his blog post about it:
https://alexmv12.xyz/blog/goaccess_caddy/
I copy pasted the snippet, replaced the log path and it instantly worked! Also thanks for the detailed analysis of the code, that is quality writing!
#plausible vs #goaccess will have to wait. Goaccess and caddy found a way to NOT support a single common log format.
Apparently, a month or so ago it was decided goaccess should adapt to caddy.
@bacardi55 #goaccess has a docker container and people have written a caddy+goaccess guide! Dual experiment is on!! Thanks
