Finished reading Godkiller, by Hannah Kaner, on the train home today. Solid fantasy quest story, with three different characters on different paths. Good pacing, good reveals, good world - really liked the bridge.

#Godkiller: I read about a third of this book before deciding it wasn’t for me. It is an interesting premise but lacking in execution. The characters feel generic and the dialogue is very dull, failing to keep me engaged at every turn.

Hannah’s take on gods is very good, feeling a little like a more serious take on Terry Pratchett’s Discworld gods, in a good way. They are easily the best part of the book.

I am happy to see more LGBTQ+ and disability representation in #Fantasy

I can't find any more information about the planned #Godkiller sequel film except that it was in development so... if anyone out there knows if #Halo8 are still planning to make it, let me know.

To my shame, #Godkiller flew under my radar for more than decade, despite the fact that the graphic novel it is based on is sitting on our shelf. My joy in discovering this transgressive flick with its industrial soundtrack, dystopian future, sex-and-blood rituals, and strange blend of thelema, chaos magick and quantum physics, is bounded only by the fact that it is the first half of the story. I finished Hannah Kaner's sublime GODKILLER over the weekend, and what a book it is - rich worldbuilding, fresh mythology and fantastic characters, one of whom could be Lemon's long-lost cousin. A cracking tale, highly recommended.
