I've had a couple of people ask me how the first puzzle in Ex Aeternum Redux works, so here's a quick visual breakdown.
The first layer uses a shader to pick the lightest pixel from the base + the four lit gate segments. The console is rendered separately, with the animated levers cut out. It's because of this that the glow from the LEDs abruptly cuts back in once you've finished the puzzle.

oh yeah i made a thing for #godotwildjam and forgot to post anything about it cuz i got into it
it's a little racing game. but your moped sometimes malfunctions (that was the theme)
you can play it in your browser, get the source code too while you're at it: https://maksu.itch.io/moped-turn-malfunction

Somehow I forgot to mention I did another #gamejam. This time the #GodotWildJam #60! My entry is incomplete, but nevertheless I had fun and learned a few new things along the way.
The theme was "Malfunction", so...I made it about a roomba who wants to kill you.
Yup. You can play it here!

Ex Aeternum Redux is now published! This might just be my most ambitious jam project ever - a small-scale Myst-like, made in just nine days.

For the sixtieth #godotwildjam, I'm working on a point-and-click adventure game à la Myst, with pre-rendered visuals and as many puzzles as I can fit into nine days. Here's a few stills...

First day of #godotwildjam done and I've got most of the player good to go.

After "failing" LDJam and GMTK Jam this year, I was able to finish two game jams in just one week.
railslide for #godotwildjam 59

Tiny Mazes for #kenneyjam 2023

These aren't memorable games, but it was fun to make, I learnt some interesting things about Godot/Gamedev.

I think I finished my #godotwildjam entry. And now I'm joining #kenneyjam 😅.
I think I finished all levels for my #godotwildjam entry. Now it's time to try create some bg music.
My #godotwildjam progress (with sound effects now). I will code some collectables and then I will design some levels.
#godotwildjam #godotengine #pixelart
#godotwildjam Main gameplay loop is almost done. Next steps:
- Create more levels
- Add UI
- Add collectables
- Add sound effects
- Compose music

That feeling where you're excited for the #indiedev #GodotWildJam to start, but don't want to start a new (unrelated) project in the meantime, so you just create the gamejam repo and implement extremely generic menu and scene switching logic.
Might be a *bit* against the spirit of a gamejam to do some basic setup (which will probably change anyway), but I'm honestly probably going to start keeping a personal library of this kind of stuff for literal copying/pasting into future projects because it's just boilerplate stuff at this point.
Now with a very primitive Ascend/Descend mechanic. Definitely some bugs/quirks to work out, but maybe this will lead to something fun.

"Ascend" you say. You'll never guess what game I've been playing... #TOTK

Started on a project called The Mountain for this month's #GodotWildJam - not really sure what this one thinks it is right now. Feels like a bad trip.
It was fun to make some dithered backgrounds and tilesets, and whatever these strange floating orbs in the background are.
