So, why am I open about mental illness?

As a sociologist I regularly taught students about discrimination, studies and ‘stigma’ (in Sociology Erving most famously wrote about it).

After my workplace environment triggered multiple panic attacks a day to the point where I was regularly contemplating suicide I eventually took sick leave and after a short while decided ‘I need to be open about this otherwise I’m reinforcing the ’.
