I’m currently deep in #Trove still, reading about the lime kilns. And when I’m not doing that, reading Dorothy L. Sayers and Robert Eustace, “The Documents in the Case.” Another #GoldenAgeMystery, but without my beloved #LordPeterWimsey .

Disclaimer: I thought "Justified" was an exceptional TV series, but respectfully think Leonard's "Rules for Writing" inapplicable to my favourite genre. Starting "The Perfect Murder" the second in Christopher Bush's Ludovic Travers series, and I'm predisposed to like it already by the wording of the disclaimer:

"All the characters in this story have never lived,
are certainly not living,
and will almost as certainly never be born.
They are, in short,
wholly fictitious."

I am so enjoying my re-reading of my favourite Golden Age mystery author, Dorothy L. Sayers.

I first read all the Wimsey stories in my teens (mumblety years ago) but had somehow let five years or more lapse between readings this time. Everything feels fresh again. Perhaps it’s just my ageing memory.

Or perhaps it’s because I have been slowly replacing my very old, foxes, falling apart, fifth hand paperbacks with a brand new, matching cover set.

In any case, I’m happy watching Lord Peter develop Into the wonderful creature Sayers allowed him to become,
