I saw this huge Douglas fir tree trunk on our way back to parking spot.

These huge are second growth. Old growth cedars are even larger. These two photos show how small we are, in comparison to the trees. While this park has some old growth to see - most of it is actually filled with 2nd & 3rd growth trees.

Most folks see the non-native gray squirrels more than the native red squirrels. It's always a delight to run into a red squirrel ❤ This lil one was a joy to watch for about 15 minutes as it frolicked in bushes & grabbed nuts & ate them 🥰

We ended up the Upper Falls trails at instead. It's accessed via the campground area & the trails there aren't as busy as the main hiking trails accessed through their main parking lot. My friend had never seen the Upper Falls before so I wanted to show her.
