Shut down my #nextcloud and split it up into separate services. I was the sole user on my instance and was using just 3 apps, so Nextcloud was overkill
File storage from vm to #truenas (separate bare metal conputer)
File sync to #syncthing
CardDAV to #baïkal
RSS feeds to #elfeed in Emacs
Music app swapped with #gonic (subsonic server) that supports more of the API that Nextcloud's app
#nextcloud #truenas #syncthing #baikal #elfeed #gonic
Used mp3tag to export all embedded album covers in my music collection to cover.jpg files in each folder, and now gonic can see them and I have album covers in my personal Spotify :partyparrot:
After reading @homegrown I stared into a rabbit hole of #subsonic servers, this lead me to find #gonic
A subsonic webserver written in #golang perfect for my low power #raspberrypi
https://golangexample.com/music-streaming-server-subsonic-server-api-implementation/
#subsonic #gonic #golang #raspberrypi
today i configured and stood up my music server (i went with #gonic because i previously faced issues with Navidrome) in #NixOS without too much trouble!
im beginning to understand how it all comes together, slowly
ive read so much theory on it, but really learning through experience and example is the only thing that seems to work... it didn't help that i also an n00b at nginx, systemd, and ufw, but now i kinda see how they all come together! :3
