Discovered yet more emails we're no longer receiving thanks to G so it looks like I'm going to migrate our email to @fastmail and point my domain there. Just need two accounts with all admin access and billing done by myself. So they seem to fit the bill ( $10 USD for two standard accounts ) and certainly have plenty of good reviews.
Maybe a job for tomorrow.

I’ve just created my first database in Notion.

The main reason was to teach myself Notion!

Actually, it’s a number of linked tables for managing the budget for planning camp, and I nearly gave up; but I’m quite proud of myself!!

I think there’s lots more I could do to improve it, but for now it works and means I am not reliant on the old one in Google Sheets (which was riddled with formulae)!

Well in light of Google's increasingly awful conduct and since my YouTube Music subscription is about to increase in price (again) with no additional functionality or benefits (again), I've decided to start divesting from the ecosystem. I've switched from Chrome to Firefox on my devices and have spent the weekend transferring my song library to Spotify and Amazon Music as a backup. Any suggestions for a maps/navigation replacement? #GoodbyeGoogle

In my quest to rid myself of Google, one thing about Gmail is the way it handles spam.

Since using my own domain, with Exchange Basic 2019 mailbox, it all comes through, There is some spam management, but I’m wondering if there’s a better solution?

Am I missing something? Is there an email service that would be better for spam management?

I’ve settled on Brave for browser and search engine, for my work laptop.
I can’t get aways from using Google Workspace, but at least I can stop using Chrome.

I am using the duck duck go search engine and browser. Signing up for some beta apps inside like stripping trackers from my emails before forwarding.

Have not figured out if I give out the duck.com address though I suspect this is true.

Feature request: translate.

Why are people so lazy and accept all browser defaults and never change search engines?

Reminds me of the time Microsoft were forced to offer Microsoft choice to select an alternative browser. That turned out well for them didn't it?

Goodbye Google Docs, I'm sold to Skiff. Even if it's still in beta, for my personal needs is more than enough.

And depending on the price, probably it will be a good option for our studio too.
