Did Google Books just get broken even more? I've long been using it as a quick-and-dirty way to check historical uses of words and phrases, and while there have always been incorrect dates and so on, it's been very useful (I don't have access to subscription-only corpora). Today I'm searching with date constraints of 1900-1940, and *all* the results are books from the last 2-3 years given the dates of 1900, 1901 or 1925. Anyone know anything? #GoogleBooks #Linguistics

Follow up: what do you think about anti-plagiarism, anti-cheating services that add student authors papers in their entirety without compensation to add to their database? I think these days a lot of that is done by the author making an account on the service and "agreeing" (perhaps after it's too late to drop a class and get a refund) to the TOS.
