#botALLY friends, maybe you can help.
I'd like to make a bot that posts a particular film title (plus poster if possible) on a particular date.
For example, the Hitchcock film The Man Who Knew Too Much takes place on March 21. Every year, on March 21, I want my bot to post a set text, the film title, and the poster (not a preview, an actual picture).
I have created a personal calender in #iCal and hoped to iCal > #RSS > Mastodon, but so far no joy.
Would this work in #GoogleCalender (trying to avoid Google for reasons), or is there a niftier solution that cuts out the RSS step? I don't want to crosspost from Twitter, though I'm sure that that is the easiest solution that allows the artwork to show up.
Note: I think @calendar_social's tech may be a solution but I don't think I'd work without running my own server.
