The open source ecosystem won't begin to understand the impact of the for a little while yet, but we really need to pay attention. They wrote a lot of checks, and did a lot of work behind the scenes, and some of the people instrumental in that work are now gone.

Google's membership and foundations renewals next year will be revealing.
