I used to be able to tell it to play "Santa Claus and his Old Lady", and it would kick off a great #holiday #playlist.

#YouTubeMusic just keeps going with other Cheech and Chong bits. Or if I ask for "Christmas in Hollis" I get a bunch of 80s hip-hop, not just holiday tunes in that style.

#Google took a really responsive, competitive #streaming service, and dumped in place of this formless crap.

#Spotify and its continued lack of an upload function makes it unusable IMO. There are always holes in any streaming music catalog.

#AppleMusic thankfully has uploads, and has filled the void left by #GooglePlayMusic.

It really isn't keen on the idea of being told it can't notify you, or having its storage cleared.

So that's 36Kb of storage I'm not getting back in a hurry.

Ich habe meine eigenen Musik- und Hörbuch-Uploads von #GooglePlayMusic zu #YouTubeMusic übertragen, da Play Music bald eingestellt wird.

Fast ein Wunder, dass Google die eigene Musik nicht einfach löscht. Aber dafür wurde die eigene Musikbibliothek in YT relativ unbrauchbar gemacht. Es gibt darin keine Filterung nach Album oder Genre. Streaming auf Lautsprecher gibt es auch nur noch mit Abo. 👎

Switched from #YouTubeMusic back to #GooglePlayMusic - YTM is still not a full replacement, autoplay via BT does not work, music often hangs, the radio playlists are much worse than from GPM - sorry, but should GPM be closed, I will probably switch to the competition.

I'm listening to #Disillusion - #TheLiberation via #YouTubeMusic app for the first time, and: it doesn't do *gapless playback*.
Or, as I'd like to call it, *proper* playback of albums. #GooglePlayMusic, which they're going to kill off later this year, did.

My preferred musical genre is Alternative 80's, and the more British the better. That said Soma FM Underground 80s do a fantastic job.
Sometimes you will find gems on Google Play Music, like this album.
Big Big's Breakaway always reminds me of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
