Since our IT team is busy moving computers between buildings, I have been left to be the Data Wrangler ingesting terabytes of data from a Google Drive.

Found a hacky solution using Google Collab, but its still painful. Why do people use Google Drive?!

Oh found a pretty sneaky way using google colab to download directly to our company gdrive an entire folder structure from a 'link shared with me'... without having to download each folder as a zip individually. Its all automated and is going to be running over night!

I did a #Google search for *nintendo store london*.

#GoogleSuggestedQuestions had a very helpful iteration of this:

> Is there a physical Nintendo store in London?

The answer:

> Nintendo has opened its own shop at the heart of the UK's busiest High Street[...]

If you are on a desktop computer you might notice this quotes a story from 2011, on mobile there is no date. Not helpful at all.

Real answer seems to be "no".

Imagine people using this for serious stuff.

As a library and information scientist I was trained to narrow my search terms to get only relevant results but Google thinks it is better to give you as many pages as possible.

Google increasingly ignores search terms and guesses what you mean. This also applies to advanced search functions.

Google is like Joey in that episode of Friends where he discovers synonyms.

It is launching, however, in the #US and the #UK. If I was a user there I really would think twice whether to sign up to this service that is obviously not even fulfilling basic data protection standards, on purpose.
